Petrol, I think a 1.3.
Extremely loud exhaust, stripped out interior, bucket seats, racing steering wheel, etc. Very cool thing , the previous owner prepped it for road rallies.

Now my friend bought it as a daily.

Yup! I had a mechanic fix* the rust on the floors for cheap, but then I had a bit of bad luck at the inspection - my guy who works there was on holiday unbeknownst to me, so even though I checked the rust issue, the smog-test was impossible to pass without any... help.

*by fix the rust, I mean fill it in with foam, bitumen and make it look ok.
Also, this is the first time I’ve ever used the word unbeknownst, so that’s a small victory.

Next step is to either find a different testing station with someone willing to help the Twingo along, or wait for m y guy to come back from holiday. Welcome to the Balkans, where the average age of cars in traffic is 14 years old, and most of them simply cannot pass emissions testing standards set by the EU - no matter what you try to do to the engine sensors, exhaust or intake. So that means that a vast majority of cars you see on the road have had 100kuna casually resting on the gear shifter when the car was being inspected...

I’m optimistic again, I think the Twingo will spend another year on the road! Although I have to be honest, I have been looking at the classifieds, like this LNG converted 2.3L 5 cylinder Volvo...
